Whitehall Throws Welcome Event to Celebrate New Factory (Summer 2011)

Extending a warm Whitehall welcome

It’s been an eventful year – as Will & Kate waved from a royal carriage in Whitehall, we waved goodbye to our Whitehall home of 30 years and took up residence at our new rather palatial home, just 5 minutes from the M32. The move has been a great success and now that the dust has settled upon our sparkling new digital press, we too will be receiving guests in celebratory style!

A welcome event will be held on Thursday 15th September 2011 from 3pm to 6pm for clients old and new to tour our new facilities, see our presses in action and to enjoy a spot of rather proper afternoon tea.

Due to limited numbers attendance is by invitation only however, if you’d like to find out more about Whitehall or to come and see us, please email Joe Bendon or Antony Tucker at enquiries@whitehallprinting.co.uk or call 0117 954 7000.

New city centre premises secured for Whitehall’s expansion (Spring 2011)

Despite the gloomy economic outlook, it’s been a great year for Whitehall Printing. With the loyal support of our staff and customers, demand for high quality print has outstripped our Gordon Road premises and compelled us to search for a much bigger site.

Located just of St Phillips Causeway in central Bristol, a new factory has been secured almost three times the size of the current site. Preparations are underway to ready the premises for an expanded operation.

The move will take place mid-April and over the course of the year, Whitehall plan to install additional presses along side their existing state-of-the-art equipment to double their capacity.

Joe, Co-Director says: “It’s incredibly exciting to be taking on such a large site and to know that we’ll be able to offer customers and even greater range of print services, whilst maintaining our reputation for speed, quality and great service.”

Customers old and new will be invited to come and view the premises at an Open Day event this summer. Anyone interested in attending should contact enquiries@whitehallprinting.co.uk

Digging Deep For Climate Change (Spring 2009)

Whitehall Printing is the latest Bristol company to donate to the Forest of Avon's Climate Active! project, making a direct contribution to our local green spaces. Father & sons team Colin, Adam & Joe from Whitehall Printing marked the donation by planting four Oak trees and a Whitebeam at Wooscombe woods near Bristol.

The funds donated by the company will be used by the Forest of Avon to donate Free Tress to local schools, parishes and community groups. Climate Active! is the Forest of Avon's programme for local action on climate change and encourages local people and businesses to take positive action to acknowledge and actively reduce their carbon footprint.

Joe Bendon, Whitehall Partner & Director explained why digging down is the best way forward:

"We chose to support the Forest of Avon Climate Active! scheme to build on our green policy - to minimise the impact of our business on the environment - but also because we are a local, family business wanting to do something that our clients, staff and families will benefit from. The work of the Forest of Avon directly improves our quality of life and the local outdoor spaces we all know and love. As Bristolians with little ones here or on the way, we all want to see our favourite local places such as Leigh Woods looked after, but we all need to do our bit - hopefully our donation will help build awareness and that businesses can play a useful part in mitigating climate change."

Whitehall Printing launched their green policy last year, changing many of their own practices and providing clients with eco-friendly print solutions. What's next? The printers are currently being assessed for FSC accreditation so watch this space!

From the Pit Stop to the perfect finish !

Whitehall Printing has moved into the fast lane of print-finishing by investing in the ‘Pit Stop’ – the best Creasing and Folding machine on the market. Always quick of the mark, Whitehall is one of the first companies in the UK to install the new machine since it’s launch late last year.

This latest addition to the factory floor can seriously step up the pace when it comes to completing jobs quickly, adding perfect folds so vital to achieving a stunning finish.

Whilst quality is the driving force behind everything the local family business turns out, the speed of finishing a print job can make a huge difference, saving up to 24 hours on turnaround.

Tom Hartree (Production Manager)

Tom ,explains how the new technology is the first to the finish line every time:

“The Pit Stop is simply the fastest on the market and is in a different league in terms of quality. It is a heavyweight machine which creases beautifully and then folds all in one single action, dramatically reducing production time – it runs like a dream!”

“We already process a huge volume of creasing and folding jobs both from our Digital and Litho departments but now have the capacity to process in excess of 50,000 sheets of 350gsm in a single 8-hour shift.”

The machinery represents the latest in the company’s significant programme of investment to ensure that Whitehall Printing offers the very best print quality available.

Seeds of change

Whitehall have stepped up their commitment to the environment by becoming a sponsor of the Forest of Avon’s ‘Climate Active’ scheme. The Forest of Avon looks after some of the region’s most glorious greenery including the Blaise Castle and Ashton Court Estates. Planting trees and caring for woodlands are just some of the ways that Whitehall’s support will help to improve the local environment and quality of life. But Whitehall are also keen to help their customers to go green and have branched out, offering a wide range of papers and cards from sustainably managed forests
